Magazine purpose?

I have considered getting different magazines in reference to my Xbox360 and have decided not to after all. Reason being is that some of the games (I love reading about) that are highlighted in said magazine(s) I haven't quite finished yet. My question is, when you DO subscribe to a magazine. What is the sole purpose of you getting it in the first place? Is it: 1. For the tips and tricks? 2. For the in depth explination of the inner workings of the games? 3. Or do you like to just read through the different articles and to see how others view the games you so fondly cherrish?

I subscribe to magazines because (if they have fan art) I love looking at fan art, I like to see the up coming games and reviews on them to see if any will interest me and I also like being in the loop if possible, sometimes magazines provide deals and things as well. _________________
