Well, this is more for those who haven't had the opportunity that to play Ghost Recon: Future Soldier yet or own a copy of the game. I'm just going to put in a brief review of the game for now and maybe post a proper review after I finish my current one.
In short, the game is good. It's not too buggy and the character animation is good (i.e. No ragdoll like behaviours to NPC's after they die). The environment is quite enjoyable during the lull moments where you have a period to take a breather and prepare yourself for the next one. But there is a feeling of restriction in most of the environments due to the fact that its crowded with objects or a breach taking place in a small room which leaves little time to aim properly and shoot.
In most instances, I think they've copied most aspects and elements from other games.
The breaches and the bullet time effect they use is taken from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as well as piloting a small drone or guiding an airstrike. While they pull it off as having you press an extra button to continue with this order, at the end of the day, it is just another CoD based technique rip.
They've also ripped the location display off Splinter Cell: Conviction. You remember in SC: Conviction how they display the location of where you are on a nearby building or environment? Ghost Recon does the same. Except, it only posts the area/country you are currently in the far off distant background. It's not bad, but I think its not really needed if you pay more attention to the enemies than your location as you're not really jogging forward as much to your current objective.
And as for dusty terrain, I'm pretty sure most modern day shooters have at least one dusty encounter (I can name quite a few).
The guns are guns and they can be customised. Much like the Army of Two weapon customisation menu but with a lot more variety as the gun is broken down to the trigger, gas supply and more.
The only pet peeve about this game is that you die ridiculously fast. Not that every shot is an instant one-hit-K.O but I did note that I died a whole lot faster than compared to CoD or Battlefield. It does encourage you to take cover rather attempting to become a mobile tank and peppering everyone on the battlefield with bullets but for cover that is pretty much destructible and has pieces eroded off after one or two bullets, it does become sorta pointless. The nice thing about is that you do get revived by team mates and you do have three of them (Thank God) which also helps in a co-op multiplayer. Which does remind me of Left For Dead, but just not killing zombies.
Overall, it's decent. It's a good game and easy to lose track of when you play. It's also an awesome game to receive as a late birthday present too, mind you.
Any questions about the game, I'd be more than happy to answer.
