I do like the general style of the place and the menus down the side are a good idea (That I know you are working on) but the links extend out of the box for myself (Firefox, W7) and the repeating background is a bit werid. I do have an idea in mind for my own background but I'm not good at creating them! xD
As for a suggestion, may I say the code/quote box borders need to be a little bit more defined. I just found it hard to differentiate between them and the posts in some areas. ;3 All in all though, does the job!

Are you meaning they overlap the forum body (middle) ? If so.. Yeah, a few people have been saying this. Im working on getting them positioned the same in all browsers. Just trying to find the correct code for the css & that will be sorted. Hopefully very soon  About the background image, there shouldnt be a repeating background, it should just be all green. Can you take a screenshot of what my forum looks like to you (showing the repeating background). Im not quite sure what your talking about with the quotes?

Basically on the quotes area, I just think a black border or whatever border just helps clearly define the break between quote and message. I'm sure I would get used to the greyed text though it i smore of a personal preference I suppose. xD

I really don't like the default 'no avatar' images. I also don't like the fact that they change. It's just an opinion though, as I am sure other people will like them...

You could maybe have a dark background with a light white misty kind of feel around it and then place three game characters on either side of the forum body which would look nice in my opinion. Wouldn't be too hard to get someone to make either and it just adds to the 'gamey' feel of the site seeing people from GTA/AC and so on as you post.

It's nice and simple :) But you could do new icons. I mean these post buttons and such. And certainly the profile, pm, email, www buttons are so small I can see them just fine, but a little bigger would be better in my opinion. _________________

I think we would benefit from having a new section layout so for example the smaller categories with only or two sections could be merged so we have no more than two main gaming categories.

Here is how I see it Don't get offended or anything, just throwing in a few ideas Combine: Games (everything just under this (no sub forums, just all of these combined) Career & Story Mode Gaming Up Coming Games (you certainly don't need sub forum for the trailers) Online Game Hunting & Achievement Trading Perhaps you could combine the Announcements and Feedback & Suggestions as they are both site related forums. Combine these together and call it something like general xbox discussion (and then add into the description all of that below) Xbox Events, Shows & Magazines Consoles & Accessories The review section could all be combined. When the site gets bigger you can have them be seperate (but even then it really isn't needed) And I think all of the above can go under the same category. You can then add another category just dedicated for achievement discussion and guides. But those above are pretty much general gaming stuff, so just call it general xbox or something like that :) I don't think you need a XLF Marketplace section. You can add a sub forum to the Xbox Live Fan section that is above the page. And one suggestion that I now came up with, you can buy a sub forum for a certain game series with your points. Like if I have 500 points I can request for a Battlefield 3 sub forum, that is only dedicated on Battlefield 3 discussions. _________________

I didn't focus on all the forums, this was just a quick observation suggestion thingie I've ran a pretty succesful forum, and I know from my own mistakes to give these advices to you :) I had like 50 forums and sub forums when I started It was cool to have a lot of forums, but when they are empty, they look bad. And when you combine these forums, you get one that has more content = more appealing. _________________
