When you look at other consoles that have come up, like the Wii or the Playstation Move, they're pretty much dying as we speak. What is different about the Kinect in your eyes that's going to keep it alive?

Nothing much different to the many control devices that there is for the PC. The only saving grace for Kinect is when Kinect 2 comes out.

Besides the fact that your the controller nothing is really going for it.
If they could setup some games that make full use out of it then it might be saved.
My opinion it's going to die and when it does it's going to die hard.

Pat, they still have a saving grace that hasn't been displayed yet. The features that are not implemented in the current Kinect.

The reason I said about the imaginary Kinect 2 is cause there's still features that have not come on the Kinect yet.

To be honest with you, I think it will survive only for a tiny bit longer. I really do like the concept though, and I personally think it's much better than the Wii strictly because there's no need for a controller YOU are the controller which is pretty sweet. However so many games could be produced for this said device, and even then who will be buying the Kinect then a $50 game that probably will be played for a tiny bit? I don't think it has too many great games that are compatible with it, but that's just my opinion though. :\

Off-games though, the Kinect is finding so much practical use. One prime example is a "real life" doll using the kinect to locate the people that walk by.

The one thing that I love about the Kinect is that I don't have to have a controller. My dad has games like Zumba, Just Dance and couple other exercise games that are actually pretty fun to play. I hope that the 'Kinect 2' brings some new life into the Kinect as it really does have some great potential but needs a lot of work still.

I've always thought the Kinect would not survive. The reason being is that it's a direct copy of The Wii, and even though it's from Microsoft, everyone know's their motives.
