Visuals & Graphics..
The atmosphere of Army of Two (AoT) does suck you in with plenty of good execution of destruction animations and chaos and confusion rampant in the streets of Shanghai. Crumbling buildings destroyed by mortars or large air carriers have a smooth animation with no out of place explosions and lighting. The population in the background do provide a somewhat eerie setting while the litter of billowing papers on the ground and leftover vehicles gives a feeling of abandonment in the game.

Graphics are well rounded but like most games, some specific textures will load slower than most. Often happens to me when going into and getting out of a scoped weapon.
Visuals & Graphics Rating: 8/10

Achievement Difficulty..
Most achievements in AoT are relatively easily gained in the first play-through while some might require multiple play-throughs to gain or even online play. But the achievement list for this game is somewhat short. There doesn’t seem to be enough put into trophy hunting than its story or gameplay. It’s not a bad feature but does put-off the replay value for me.
Achievement Difficulty Rating: 5/10

Story Mode / Campaign Difficulty..
Single player campaign with an AI partner is quite annoying at times. Your partner will often charge headfirst into a throng of enemies if Aggro advance is chosen or it will simply linger around you when the enemies are at a distance. Such as across a ravine. Having it follow behind you is almost a waste at times because since it is computer controlled, it lacks the ability to hide in cover behind where your current location is and might ultimately blow your cover by running past an enemy patrol just as the checkpoint hits.

The hostages are residents of Shanghai and you must save them from the merciless mercenary soldiers. More often you’ll find yourself restarting from a designated checkpoint just to save them so you can unlock an achievement or so.

But the overall story is… lacking. The ending is more or less a cliffhanger and an unsavoury one at that. As for difficulty, the easy difficulty is very easy indeed. This setting will more or less allow you to breeze past 65% of the game uncontested with plenty of cash to throw around. While on Contractor, the hardest difficulty is… well, hard. Enemies are unforgiving and many other things to it. Probably best reserved for a second play through.
Story Mode / Campaign Difficulty Rating: 7/10

Game Depth & Navigation Details..
Since the game requires you to make moral choices at specific points, such as spare this man and gain no reward or put a bullet in his brain and get the hefty reward on his head, the depth of the story does differ. Whether you are a more of a bad guy or good guy, the choices that you make during the game impact mainly the weapon outcomes and the ending cutscene. Making moral choices does immerse yourself more into the game, but some outcomes are pretty outrageous.

Navigation is somewhat sticky at most. I experienced a slight lag when navigating through the weapon customisation menu and the environment on-screen is not exactly user-friendly, per say. There is plenty of shoulder-high cover and debris litter about the levels and when you’re sprinting for your life from a mini boss, it can be frustrating when you automatically slide into cover… On the wrong side and end up being a punchcard for any shotgun or minigun wielding mini boss.
Storyline Depth & Navigation Details Rating: 6/10

Value For Money..
Players will get to choose between two characters: Rios or Salem.
In order to get a better finish from the game, it requires you to play through as both of these characters. And just because you’re playing co-op with a friend doesn’t mean you’re killing two birds with one stone. Whomever makes the choice in the last point of the game will ultimately gain the last epilogue of the game so the game almost forces you to play again if you wanted both of the endings.
Value For Money Rating: 6.5/10

Ratings Round-Up..
Visuals & Graphics: 8/10
Achievement Difficulty: 5/10
Story Mode / Campaign Difficulty: 7/10
Game Depth & Navigation Details: 6/10
Value For Money: 6.5/10

Overall Rating: 32.5/50

It's a co-op shooter. Fun maybe the first time around with a friend.
Sequel to Army of Two. It's not too bad but not great either.

Personally, I go game collecting from any friends of mine just in case. Though if you're planning on getting a copy, buying secondhand on eBay is cheaper. And if you request for photos of the disk, you would be able to see the condition before you buy. I find that it saves me a few bucks. But of course there isn't anything wrong with buying a new copy of it at all.

I have never seen nor heard of this game. But it looks like one I would be willing to give a go. Graphics look pretty decent to me on this though, but I do not much care for slower loading games.

Thanks for the tips, I should think high rated sellers wouldn't sell faulty games though. I don't buy new, I will get a used copy.

That is true. I picked up a preowned copy of this for about $14 and it works brilliantly.
But good luck with your hunt and happy gaming! :D

Sometimes I feel that the only way to go is preowned. That way you are not wasting tons of money if you do not like the game.

Exactly, and at the end of the day whats the point buying new? It's just a disk and if it works its fine, it's not like you're going to be looking at the disk once its playing or anything...

It is pretty decent for a co-op shooter as you don't really see much of them anymore.

Army of two was a decent game when I first played it several years ago. I just found this game got really boring really fast for me though, and moved on to Halo games. Still a fun game though.
