I've only done this a couple times, I try to complete the game as much as possible on my own without assistance.
But a few levels in Portal 1 really stumped me and I had to look it up, and one part in Half-Life also had me confused.
I've also looked up parts in Limbo.

I have only done this once. I think if the company can take years to complete the production of a game then I should at least do it myself (even if it takes longer than I would like).
I don't remember the game because it was several years ago. But, like I said, I was stuck and I couldn't find my way out of the situation I was in. I didn't use the walk through for the entirety of the game though. I just got out of the predicament I was facing and moved on.
I don't hold it against others that do the same either. The only time I consider it over used is when someone uses the walk-throughs for the whole game. That's kind of a waste of money on the game as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, that's the same thing I did. I would never use walkthroughs for the whole game, that would go against everything I stand for as a gamer. I do use walkthroughs myself yes :) usually the ones on youtube that people release are the ones that I use however I only tend to use them myself after I have spent a chunk of time trying to do it myself and still not succeeded.

I have, but I personally try not to because I find it more fun to do it all by myself the first try or something along that lines. But if I can't figure out how to do a part or a level I will search up a tutorial of some sort.

I don't really like usind tutorials or walk-throughs but when I get stuck I kind of have to go to one of them for last resort before I end up wanting to bash something into a wall >>

I don't use tutorials or walk throughs. The way I see it, it's cheating. And I don't need to cheat to beat a game. I would only ever consider using a walkthrough is when I've been trying to get past a part for weeks and I know I will never beat it otherwise. Often I find it's a glitch, like in Super Paper Mario, turned out I had to do as it said AND push the - button, which it had not mentioned in the game and I never would have figured it out.

I actually make walkthroughs!  But as for myself, I use them sometimes. I only really use them if i get stuck in something. often that is for two reasons, first one being I have no idea where to go or what i have to do. If I spend ages looking around and have no clue I will look at a walkthrough to find out, but only to find out, i don't watch all of it. The second reason being if I am in a battle, like a boss battle and I just can't win. I look up some walkthroughs or tutorials to get some tactic ideas.

I do make them, and also I follow them when I get stuck somewhere. Saves me from spending hours trying to do something that I won't be able to do.

When you think walkthrough you should think that it should be easy...
Who would see a walkthrough if it was still challenging for them after they blew themselves up trying to finish something which they can't do?

That is not what I ment. I like to see a picture and some text, rather than ruin the moment for me by seeing it being done. I want to know how it's supposed to be done, not see it.

Yes all my walkthroughs are video. I don't do written or photo walkthroughs because it takes more time, especially written ones. My video ones are being recorded as I play and then I produce it afterwards. Writing it up would take quite some time after you've played it.

I only use them if I'm looking to find a bunch of hidden things (example: the pigeons in GTA). Without the walkthrough it would take years to find them all.

I find myself from time to time Youtubeing walk through but most of the time I'm capable of running through a game myself, you can't beat a challenge though. Thinking about it when was the last time anyone actually bought the walk through guide that is made with most games?.

only two occasions when i use tutorials \ walk-throughs.
1) i'm checking out the game to determine whether or not i should buy it
2) i'm stuck and don't know how to proceed ingame. in which case i start by looking for textual tips, rather than video. usually when it comes to tutorials, they use terms and phrases and help me recognize where \ what i should be doing. but if that's not the case and i'm COMPLETELY lost, i'll consult a youtube video walk-through.
