I try to however depending on how excited I am for the multiplayer side of the game if there is one depends on if I give it a miss at first or play it first. I remember with Call of Duty Black Ops I forced myself to complete the campaign on normal difficulty before I went online :)

I always complete the story mode before I start playing online. I like to get good at a game before I start playing people online. It's a good way to prepare for the tough competition on Xbox Live.

yes, the story mode is the main reason why I buy my games. In fact, I probably prefer playing the story mode more than playing online.

I always force myself to play through the campaign of a new game, if it's a game that's been out for a long time the story doesn't really interest me that much.

I buy them for the storymode. Multiplayer hardly ever is worth it. Battlefield 3 being the only exception by far.

I usually do play the story first. It gets me some experience in the game so I know what I am doing when I go online instead of being a total noob. I like to have experience before going to compete with others online.
