Does anybody like / play the story mode in Halo ?
I personally dont really like it.
The online multi-player is excellent, so not sure why they didnt put more effort into making the story mode better.
Whay do youse think?

I think the story mode levels in Halo 3 are way to long.
there should be more of them, but shorter.

I played alot of the story mode more than one in Halo 3 myself. I actually did enjoy it both the first time around and numerous times that I played it again, saying that though I did play alot of it with friends so that added to the fun on the second time around I played it.
I am really hoping they do something similar but add in some great new things for Halo 4

Com'on story mode in Halo is cool. Especially foe newbies, I always suggest the story mode as it give you the opportunity to improve a little before joining multiplayer.

I liked Halo: Reach's storyline surprisingly. But multiplayer and playing online cannot be matched, really in any game.

I think Halo's campaign can be quite lengthy at times, but I just find my way blitzing through regardless.
The online multiplayer is unique but I fear if they put more time and energy into the multiplayer, they may end up trading the storyline for it and Halo is quite heavily based on storyline...

When I hear Halo I always think of Halo 1, 2, and 3. ODST and Reach are not what I would call true Halo games. The levels/missions in Halo are long, although with the use of checkpoints you can really leave whenever you want. They've always been pretty good story lines if you stop and watch the cut scenes.

I am only playing Halo for the story mode and already played Halo CE when it was released. At that time though you did not exactly know what actually happened and only know that the humans are fighting against aliens, but you never really see earth. First in Halo 2 you actually notice what the fight is all about.

Yes I like it playing in story mode. But online gaming is really excellent as you said so I play it online more than its story mode and can you tell me the releasing date of halo 4.

The Halo story mode is awesome. It's very long and really enjoyable to play, at least for me it was. My favourite is Halo Reach. I loved playing that with friends too.  _________________ TheMarioForums.com

Yeah something about it doesn't feel right. I completed Halo 3 campaign and it was okay. But I wouldn't want to do it again. Campaign of Reach also didn't get to me yet, but I haven't finished it so can't say for sure if I like it or not.

The multiplayer mode is outstanding, but unfortunately I only purchased the game because of the story, which was terrible in my opinion.
